On Monday afternoon a person was killed in a two vehicle accident on Bushy Hill Road.
According to police, the accident happened shortly after 3 p.m. in front of 299 Bushy Hill Road. Two cars collided, and although snow had begun to fall around the state, police said that weather does not appear to have been a factor. No more details of the cause of the accident have been revealed at this time.
Lifestar was called to the scene, but due to the weather, the helicopter could not fly, and medical personnel rushed one of the drivers, who is as yet unnamed, to Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center where he died the same afternoon.
Bushy Hill Road was closed in Simsbury following the crash.
The North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad, along with Simsbury Police Department are still investigating the accident.
